DON MILLS CODE OF CONDUCT
To maintain a positive learning environment at DMCI, we expect our students to:
- Take pride as representatives of the school
- Help maintain a clean environment
- Respect and support the rights of others
- Be courteous and polite in behaviour, language and clothing
- Identify themselves immediately and respectfully to a teacher, support staff or administrator on request
- Place outerwear in lockers before classes
- Obey the laws regarding no smoking on school property
- Follow the school’s Internet usage policies
- Electronic devices (cell phones, iPods, etc.) interfere with learning activities. They are not to be seen or heard in the school
- Leave laser pointers at home
- Be prepared for class with all necessary materials and work diligently in all subjects
- Attend class punctually and regularly and be prepared to complete tests and evaluations as scheduled. Students must complete 110 hours of in-class instruction for the successful achievement of a credit
- Be clean in personal habits and language and demonstrate a high level of personal integrity
- Accept such discipline as would be exercised by a kind, firm and judicious parent
- Adhere to Toronto’s Safe Schools Policy: NO weapons or replicas are allowed on school property
- Conduct themselves in accordance with the law. No illegal drugs or alcohol are permitted on school property
There are serious consequences for failure to meet these expectations.
